Climate extremes are among the most impactful consequences of climate variability and climate change, affecting ecosystems, water resources, agriculture, and human society. Many extreme events, such as heatwaves, droughts, cold surges, and heavy precipitation, are closely linked to mid-latitude atmospheric dynamics and large-scale teleconnection patterns. As the climate continues to warm, understanding how these dynamical processes control regional climate extremes, and how their behavior may change in the future, has become an urgent scientific challenge.

This mini workshop brings together researchers and students working on climate extremes, mid-latitude dynamics, and teleconnections. The goal is to share recent research findings, discuss underlying physical mechanisms, and explore future research directions. The workshop will include an invited talk, followed by several short research presentations and an open discussion session.
